Coupleroom is operated by Coupleroom sp. z o.o., with its registered office at Aleja Jana Pawła II 80/4, 00-175 Warsaw, Poland, registered in the Register of Entrepreneurs of the National Court Register under KRS number 0001264697, NIP 5253105393.

In this Privacy Policy, “Coupleroom”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Coupleroom sp. z o.o. We are the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this Privacy Policy. You can contact us at ask@coupleroom.app.

This Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Coupleroom mobile application, website and related services (“Services”), how we use it and what rights you have.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Coupleroom and which features you choose to use.

Account and Profile Information

When you create or use an account, we may collect:

• your email address,
• account or user identifier,
• authentication and account information,
• language and app preferences,
• your name or nickname,
• your partner’s name or nickname,
• anniversary or relationship dates,
• other information you choose to add to your profile.

Coupleroom uses passwordless authentication. We do not collect or store passwords.

Activity and Game Information

When you use games, questions, quizzes, Mailbox or other interactive features, we may collect:

• answers and choices you make,
• responses sent or received through Mailbox,
• game progress,
• completed decks or activities,
• game results,
• saved activity,
• information about interactions with your connected partner.

We store some answers and activity information so that we can provide the relevant feature, remember your progress and, where applicable, make content available to your connected partner. We do not use the content of your answers or Mailbox responses for advertising, marketing profiling or product analytics.

Some optional Coupleroom features may involve information about your sex life. Where you choose to provide this information, we process it only to provide the feature you have chosen to use and on the basis of your consent.

You may withdraw your consent at any time through the App settings or by contacting us. If a feature requires this information to function as intended, you may no longer be able to use that feature after withdrawing your consent.

Notes

If you use the Notes feature, we may store the content of your notes in your account so that you can access them later and, where applicable, across your devices. Your Notes are private to your account and are not shared with your connected partner.

We do not use the content of your Notes for advertising, marketing profiling or product analytics.

Date Idea Generator

If you use the Date Idea Generator, we may process the preferences and information you provide in order to generate relevant date suggestions. We may store generated date ideas in your account so that you can access them later. This information may include your preferred type of activity, general location or other criteria you choose to provide.

Usage and Technical Information

When you use Coupleroom, we and our service providers may automatically collect information such as:

• IP address,
• device type and identifiers,
• operating system and App version,
• language,
• dates and times of App use,
• screens and features used,
• game and deck activity,
• crash and diagnostic information,
• push notification token and notification status,
• advertising identifier, where permitted,
• attribution and campaign information.

We use this information to operate Coupleroom, understand how the App is used, improve the product, identify technical issues, measure marketing performance and protect the Service from fraud or abuse.

Support and Feedback Information

If you contact us, report an issue, submit feedback or rate content, we may process your email address, message, ratings and other information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond to you, resolve issues and improve Coupleroom.

2. Information Shared With Your Partner

Coupleroom allows you to connect your account with your partner. When accounts are connected, you may choose to share information through features designed for joint use. Depending on the feature, this may include:

• selected answers,
• game results,
• shared activity or progress,
• responses sent through Mailbox.

Mailbox allows connected partners to answer questions remotely and share their responses with each other. Some answers may remain private until conditions defined by the specific game or feature are met.

When accounts are connected, Premium access may also be shared between partners.

Connecting with a partner is optional, and you can disconnect your accounts at any time through the App settings. After disconnecting, shared partner features and access to information available through those features may no longer be available.

3. Payment Information Collection and Processing

This section explains how payment information is processed through Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Payment Processing

All payments and subscriptions within the App are processed through third-party platforms such as Google Play and the Apple App Store. These platforms are responsible for handling the payment process in accordance with their own security standards and privacy policies.

We do not collect, store or process payment card details, such as card numbers, expiration dates or security codes.

Types of Payment Data Processed

In connection with subscriptions and purchases, we may receive limited payment-related information from Apple or Google, such as:

• transaction identifiers,
• subscription status,
• purchase amount and date,
• information necessary to verify access to paid features.

This information does not include full payment card details.

Methods of Collection

Payment information is collected and processed through Google Play and the Apple App Store. These platforms handle the payment process, and we do not directly store or retain your payment card details on our servers.

Purposes of Collection

The payment-related information we receive is used to manage subscriptions, verify purchases and provide access to paid features.

Third-Party Processing

When you make a purchase through Google Play or the Apple App Store, your payment information is processed by the relevant platform. We encourage you to review their privacy policies:

Legal Compliance

We comply with applicable data protection and consumer protection laws and with the relevant rules and policies of Apple and Google. We process only the payment-related information necessary to provide the Service, manage subscriptions and meet applicable legal obligations.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use personal data for the following purposes:

• Providing and maintaining your account and Coupleroom features, including authentication, games, Mailbox, Notes, the Date Idea Generator and saving information needed for these features to function — performance of a contract.
• Processing information you voluntarily provide that may be considered sensitive, including information about your sex life — consent.
• Product analytics, troubleshooting, security, fraud prevention and improving Coupleroom — legitimate interests.
• Personalising and recommending content based on how you use the App — legitimate interests.
• Marketing communications — consent where required.
• Push notifications — consent where required.
• Complying with legal obligations — legal obligation.

5. Analytics and Similar Technologies

Coupleroom may use SDKs, device identifiers, cookies and similar technologies for:

• App functionality,
• analytics,
• crash reporting,
• attribution,
• security,
• performance measurement.

Where applicable law requires consent for a particular technology, we obtain consent before using it. You may also be able to control certain technologies through your App, browser or device settings.

6. Service Providers and Other Organisations

We work with service providers that help us operate Coupleroom. These may include companies providing:

• cloud hosting and databases,
• authentication,
• analytics and crash monitoring,
• subscriptions and payment support,
• push notifications,
• email and SMS delivery,
• marketing attribution,
• product recommendations.

These service providers and other organisations include:

• Google / Firebase,
• Apple,
• RevenueCat,
• Amplitude,
• Pushbase,
• Sentry,
• Expo,
• Amazon Web Services (AWS),
• SendOps,
• MongoDB Atlas,
• Meta,
• Recombee.

We share only the information reasonably necessary for these companies to provide their services. Some companies may process information on our behalf, while others may process information under their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

7. Other Situations Where We May Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information:

• where required by law or a competent authority,
• with lawyers, accountants or other professional advisers where necessary,
• where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims,
• in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale or transfer of all or part of our business.

8. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where required, we use appropriate legal safeguards, such as adequacy decisions, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Marketing and Push Notifications

If you choose to receive marketing communications, we may send you information about Coupleroom, including product updates, new features, content and promotions. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting ask@coupleroom.app.

If you enable push notifications, we may process a push notification token and notification preferences to send reminders, Question of the Day notifications and other App notifications. We may use providers such as Pushbase to deliver push notifications. You can disable push notifications through your device settings.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. Generally:

• account, profile, Notes and game activity data – while your account remains active or until you delete the relevant data,
• saved date ideas – while your account remains active or until you delete them,
• support communications – for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request and any related claims,
• analytics and technical data – according to the retention periods configured with our analytics and technical service providers,
• purchase and subscription records – for as long as required to manage your subscription and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We may retain certain information for longer where required by law or necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal claims or dispute resolution. Some information may also remain temporarily in backups before being overwritten.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data through the App or by contacting ask@coupleroom.app.

11. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.

12. Your Privacy Rights

If GDPR applies to you, you may have the right to:

• access your personal data,
• correct inaccurate information,
• request deletion,
• restrict processing,
• receive certain information in a portable format,
• object to processing based on legitimate interests,
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent,
• lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

In Poland, the relevant supervisory authority is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych – UODO).

13. Children’s Privacy

Coupleroom is intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly allow users under 18 to create or use a Coupleroom account. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a person under 18 contrary to this requirement, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

14. U.S. Privacy Rights

If you live in the United States, you may have additional privacy rights depending on your state of residence and whether the applicable privacy law applies to Coupleroom. Depending on applicable law, these rights may include the right to:

• access or obtain a copy of your personal information,
• correct inaccurate personal information,
• request deletion of your personal information,
• opt out of certain uses of personal information, such as targeted advertising, sale or sharing where applicable,
• limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable.

We do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights available under applicable law.

To submit a privacy request, contact ask@coupleroom.app. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request. Where applicable law provides a right to appeal our decision regarding a privacy request, you may submit an appeal using the same email address.

15. Links to Other Services

Coupleroom may contain links to third-party websites or services. Those services have their own privacy practices, and we recommend reviewing their privacy policies before providing personal information to them.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Coupleroom, applicable law or our data-processing practices change. If changes are significant, we may notify you through the App, by email or another appropriate method. The effective date at the top of this Policy indicates when the latest version became effective.
